Description
SOW OUTDOORS – MARCH to AUGUST
HARVESTS – JUNE to OCTOBER
Sow directly outdoors where they are to grow from March after the last predicted frost date. Sow at a depth of 1cm into well prepared, raked moist soil in a sunny or semi shade site. Rows should be about 30cm apart. Once the seedlings emerge, thin out seedlings as necessary and cover with a protective netting or fleece. You can repeat sowings at regular intervals to ensure you have prolonged harvest. Water at night in dry periods.
The lettuce will be ready to harvest as soon as a firm heart has formed, you can test to see if they ready for harvesting by gently squeezing the top of the plant.
