HARVESTS – APRIL to DECEMBER
Sow directly outdoors where they are to grow from February. Sow at a depth of 1 to 1.5cm into well prepared, raked moist soil in a sunny or semi shade site. Rows should be about 40cm apart. Once the seedlings emerge, thin out seedlings as necessary and cover with a protective netting or fleece if you have one. You can repeat sowings at regular intervals to ensure you have prolonged harvest. Water at night in dry periods.
You can use the thinnings in salads as baby leaf. Mature heads can be harvested between June and October.
